英語(yǔ)中有些形式上否定而內(nèi)容含義上都是肯定的結(jié)構(gòu),譯成漢語(yǔ)時(shí)不能拘泥于原文的表層結(jié)構(gòu)的否定,要忠實(shí)于原文的含義。下面我們對(duì)常見的形否意肯結(jié)構(gòu)句進(jìn)行了歸納,供大家參考。
常見的形否意肯結(jié)構(gòu):
(1)否定詞+比較級(jí)(+than…)相當(dāng)于最高級(jí),通常譯為“…最…”或“完全,十分,非!
I cannot agree with you more。
He could not feel better。
The film cannot be better。
He wants nothing more than time。
Nothing is more precious than health。

2. 此結(jié)構(gòu)常用cannot/couldn’t+比較級(jí)的形式;

(3)no(nobody)… but “都…, 沒有…。不,只有…。才”
There is no man but has his faults。
There is no rule but has exception。
Nobody reads the book but will be moved。

Notes: 這種結(jié)構(gòu)中的but起關(guān)系代詞的作用,相當(dāng)于that, which, who does/ will/ have not。
(4)never (not)…. but (that) 每當(dāng)…總是…, 沒有哪次不是……
I never see you but think of my mother。
It never rains butit pours.
Never a day passedbut brought us good news。
He will not be angry but that he is offended。
(5)nothing but, none but “僅僅,只有…才”。nothing but 后接非指人的名詞, none but 后接指人的名詞,與nothing other than同義意為“僅僅,只有…才”
